A Creatomate alternative where your image template is your video template
Creatomate is a capable template API for generating images and video. Bluepic renders reactive templates: the same template that produces your images also produces your video, by evaluating its expressions over a TIME clock. One design, one API, still or clip.
The in-browser IDML tools are free forever.

Where Bluepic is different
One template, both outputs
In Creatomate an image template and a video template are separate things. In Bluepic a template is reactive, so the same design renders a PNG or an animated MP4 by changing one field, the format. You do not maintain two templates for one layout.
Layout-faithful motion
The same reflow that keeps a Bluepic still correct when the text runs long keeps the animated text correct too: neighbouring elements move and frames re-fit instead of clipping. That matters most for personalized, multilingual copy.
Design provenance: IDML and vector SVG
Bluepic imports InDesign (IDML) documents as live, data-driven templates and emits true vector SVG. If your designs originate in print or you need sharp, editable vector output, that path does not exist in Creatomate.
Where Creatomate is strong

Creatomate is a capable, established tool. Pick the one whose model fits your work: value-substitution over static templates, or reactive templates whose layout re-fits itself.
